Boy Young

Take those small, fleeting conversations and dive into them.

That’s what Boy Young does, drawing on subtle moments to depict the landscape of daily life. “I have this habit of dwelling on conversations, especially words that I think are important. Boy Young gives me the chance to explore those moments and give them more life”.

Boy Young is the new project from Joe Keain (formally Tall Enough To See), a singer-songwriter from Adelaide. Writing all of the fundamental music elements of his songs with self-taught bedroom production has allowed him the liberty to experiment with instrumental production ideas.

Taking influence from bands such as Catfish and The Bottlemen and the 1975, he says his biggest influences are local bands doing big things. “The Adelaide music scene is alive and kicking down the door at the moment which has been a huge inspiration to me, particularly West Thebarton who are doing incredible things. It pumps me up and makes me want to write more”.

Boy Young will be taking the stage at The Stag on Thursday August 1st with Luc Thomas and Maisie B.
